What I know about Cerebral Palsy....

Updated: May 24, 2022

I have had such an interesting journey as a pediatric physical therapist where I have had so many amazing mentors along the way to help shape my path. Its been 40 years and it all started right after graduation from PT school in Copenhagen, Denmark!

Every time I veered of the pediatric path, I was drawn back because what can be better than working with kids and their families?

My bio:

So where have I been?

I was part of a team in Copenhagen back in the early 80'ies, who started the first Early Intervention Program.....

I worked in a school in Copenhagen along amazing and highly experienced PTs....

I got to lead and develop a PT department that served adults with disabilities....

When I moved to the United States, I worked at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston in their pediatric program and got to be part of a new pediatric pain management program......

When I moved to Rochester NY I spent a few years in Early Intervention...

Then I started my first business: Pediatric Physical Therapy Services...

10 years later it became Step by Step Developmental Services, a multidisciplinary program....

Then we opened an outpatient clinic....

Sometime in the middle of all this I met Karen Pape, MD who became my amazing mentor and friend. Together we developed a systematic intensive therapy framework for CP that I implemented in my clinic.....

The intensive program took of and became KeytoCP.....

I had amazing travel experiences teaching about Brachial Plexus Injuries and my CP program going to New Zealand, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Canada and many more places.....

Then in 2021, I decided to retire from business ownership so I sold my practice and moved to Eureka California where I am now enjoying the most stunning nature in between travel to teach and work.....

Well, that is the short version of my long story! So what do I have to add that could possibly be of interest to all of you? My lessons learned along the way......and my strong desire to pass it all along as I teach, mentor and coach.

I would love to hear back from YOU!
